Incentives for Participating in Surveys

  • How does the HCD Surveys Panel Point System work?
    Although you earn money for surveys you participate in, your money is recorded on a point system. The point system is a simple one in which $1 is equal to 100 points. For example, if you have 550 points in your account, that is equal to $5.50. The best part is you will never have to redeem your points for anything other than cash!

  • How much money will I earn for participating in each survey?
    The amount of points/money you earn for each survey will vary for each survey. On average, you will earn between $1 (100 points) to $5 (500 points) per study. From time to time, you may be invited to a survey that does not offer an incentive for participating. Each invitation you receive to participate in a survey will tell you how much money you will earn for completing the survey. Then you can decide which surveys you would like to participate in.

  • Will I get paid even if I do not complete an entire survey?
    If you are invited to a survey but you do not complete all of the survey questions, you will not receive the incentive for that survey.

  • Will I get paid even if I do not qualify to participate in the survey?
    If you are invited to a survey but do not qualify to participate, you will not be paid the incentive for that survey. However, for paying studies, panelists who enter a survey and are disqualified will be credited 10 points. To determine if you are qualified to participate in the survey, you must enter the survey and answer the screening questions.  At the end of the screener, you will be told whether or not you qualify to participate.  If you do not qualify, the 10 points will automatically be credited to your account.

  • Will I get paid if the segment for which I qualify has closed due to a full quota?
    If you are invited to a survey but the segment for which you qualify has reached its quota, you will not be paid the incentive for that survey. However, for paying studies, panelists who enter a survey and are closed out (due to a full segment quota) will be credited 10 points. To determine if the segment for which you qualify is full or still open, you must enter the survey and answer the screening questions.   Once your segment is determined, you will be told if the segment is closed.  If the segment is closed, the 10 points will automatically be credited to your account. Please note that you must enter the survey and complete at least one question in order to qualify for this 10 point credit.

  • How do I redeem the money that I have earned for participating in surveys?
    Visit the "My Account" page and go to the "My Rewards" section on this page. Here you will be able to click on the "Redeem Rewards" link if you have earned 1000 points (worth $10) or more. After your request has been made, we will process and mail a check for the total amount of money you've accumulated. Please allow 6-8 weeks for payment processing.

  • Do I really get cash for participating in the HCD surveys?
    HCD pays cash for surveys you participate in. Our system keeps track of the cash using points. The point system is easy to understand because 100 points is equal to $1. If you had 150 points in your account it would be equal to $1.50. Each time you earn points for participating in a survey, those points will always be equal to cash. You will never have to redeem your points for prizes.

Information Provided to HCD

  • What will HCD do with my responses?
    After combining your answers with those of other participants who have completed the survey, we analyze the data and find significant results to deliver to our client(s). Individual responses will not be shared with our client.

  • Will my contact information be shared with anyone?
    Your contact information will not be revealed, sold or given to any third parties or clients. Although this rarely occurs, if a client requests to be able to contact you for additional information regarding the survey topic, we will provide the client your contact information only if you have agreed to this. The agreement will be clearly stated in the form of a question in the survey or survey registration. If you do not want your information to be shared with the client, you would simply indicate this in the question and we will not share your information with the client. Survey Qualifications

  • Why do I get invited to surveys that I do not qualify for?
    We cannot guarantee that you will qualify for every study. We use the responses in your profile to help us select people to invite to surveys. Unfortunately, your profile does not cover every possible qualifying criterion a client may have in mind. The best way to increase your chances of being invited to surveys for which you may qualify is to keep your profile complete and up-to-date.

  • How are qualifications for each survey determined?
    Each survey has its own unique set of qualifications that are determined by our clients. This does not mean that you do not know enough about a specific subject to answer the survey but that our clients may want to include only those people who meet certain criteria.

Survey Availability

  • How will I know when a survey is available for me to participate in?
    For each survey that you are invited to, we will send you an email invitation to the survey and we will also post the survey in the "My Surveys" section of your member account page.

  • How many surveys can I expect to be invited to per month?
    The number of survey invitations each panel member receives in any given month varies significantly from person to person. The number of invitations you will receive is directly related to whether or not you meet some of the criteria our client is targeting for the survey. Please ensure that your member profile is accurate and complete to ensure that you are invited to participate in the most surveys.

Referring Others To Join

  • How do I refer friends and family members to join the HCD survey panel?
    You can refer others by logging into your account and clicking on the "Refer a Friend" button. You will be presented with your personal referral link which you can pass around to others, or you may also enter in the email addresses to which you'd like to send your referral link.

Membership Account Questions

  • What should I do if I have forgotten my HCD Surveys panel membership username or password?
    Visit the Password Recovery Page, complete the form, and we will send you your information.

  • What should I do if I have forgotten the email address associated with my account?
    Please contact HCD Surveys Technical Support and provide them with as much account information as possible, such as your full name and address. This information will help us find you in our system.

  • How do I update my profile?
    Log into your account and use the "My Profile" links to update your information.

  • How do I cancel my HCD Surveys panel membership?
    Although we would like to keep you as a member, if you would like to discontinue your membership and stop receiving survey invitations from us, log into your account and click "Unsubscribe". Within 48 business hours of unsubscribing, your account will be closed and we will no longer contact you.
